USDA to host Home Repair Application Day in Miami

Posted

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) will be offering the public an opportunity to learn about, and apply for, its Home Repair Program later this month. Application Day will be held on both Wednesday, July 24 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, July 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Bullion Plaza in Miami.

USDA staff are coming to Bullion Plaza to talk about the agency’s 504 Repair Loan and Grant program, which provides loans of up to $40,000 to low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their home – as well as grants of up to $10,000 to elderly (over 62), low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards. These can be combined for up to $50,000 toward home repair.

Items to bring, if available, include: A signed tax return from the previous two years, four most recent pay stubs, a Social Security or VA Award letter, a deed or most recent property tax assessment, and a list of home repairs needed.

Spanish services will be available.
