Kismet Klassroom kicks off with excitement for the new school year

Posted

As the new school year begins, project Kismet Klassroom is off to a fantastic start, bringing a fresh wave of support and enthusiasm to local educators. Education is one of the core focus areas of Kismet, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and improving the community in Globe, AZ. This year, the organization is thrilled to announce its first Kismet Klassroom recipient, Miss Emma Sanchez!

Emma, a recent graduate of Arizona State University's Mary Lou Fulton Teacher’s College, will be stepping into her first year of teaching 4th grade in the Miami Unified School District. While beginning a teaching career is an exciting milestone, it often comes with significant challenges, especially when it comes to preparing a classroom. Between the anticipation of meeting her new students and the stress of gathering all the necessary supplies, the financial burden can be overwhelming for a new teacher.

That’s where Project Kismet Klassroom comes in. This initiative was designed to assist new teachers like Emma by fulfilling classroom wish lists and providing essential supplies throughout the school year. Thanks to the project, Emma's classroom is stocked and ready to inspire her young students. Kismet is committed to continuing this support, ensuring that Emma and her students have what they need to succeed all year long.

The Kismet Foundation is a new nonprofit organization focused on empowering Globe and Miami to take initiative and improve their community. Newly formed in 2024, the foundation is led by three Globe natives including Daisy Flores, a criminal law specialist and co-owner of Waggin’ Vineyard & Estates, Sarah Alexander, a business analyst with EAC Small Business Development Center and co-owner of Pretty Kind Boutique, and Erika Flores, clinical professor at ASU and co-owner with Sarah of Pretty Kind Boutique. Along with a group of local, dedicated volunteers, the Kismet team is hoping to make a big impact in the community, with Kismet Klassroom being their flagship project.

The Kismet Foundation is excited about the opportunities ahead to engage with and support educators in the community. This project is just one of the many ways Kismet is making a difference in Globe, with a mission centered on creating your own destiny. By uplifting others and investing in the next generation, Kismet is driven by a passion for positive change.
