Linda Oddonetto, the City of Globe's economic and community development director since July 2021, has moved up to a higher position with the City. At the August 13 City Council meeting, Oddonetto was announced as Globe's assistant city manager, a recently created position.

As assistant city manager, Oddonetto will oversee all sections of Community Development, all Public Works divisions, Human Resources, the Community Center Pool, Globe Public Library and Gila County Historical Museum.

City Manager Paul Jepson will continue to oversee the Police and Fire Departments, Finance, Procurement, IT, Benefits and the Active Adult Center.

“This is just the next natural step for a city our size,” Jepson said of the assistant city manager position.

Oddonetto's career with the City of Globe started in 2017, as Jepson's executive assistant. After a year in that position, she was promoted to economic development director in 2018. In July 2021, her title was expanded to economic and community development director.

“I'm honored and humbled, especially because my interview panel were my fellow directors and they asked some incredibly hard questions,” said Oddonetto. “I want to exhibit the leadership traits that I admire and those that have helped me to be where I am today.” She went on to emphasize the importance of partnerships in working toward community development. “Our department was called economic development but it really was community development, and that's what we've been doing for the last seven to eight years.”
