Freddie Carl Goss, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

Freddie, or Fred as he was known to his friends, was born on March 13, 1938 to Fred and Louise Goss in Pitcher, Oklahoma. He lived his early years in Amarillo, Texas and later moved to Arizona.

A cowboy and a Marine (Military Police May 1957 - May 1960), he was a strong man dedicated to his beliefs who lived by “The Cowboy Code.” A smile and firm handshake were always present when meeting Freddie.

A hardworking man into his 80s, Freddie had finally decided it was time to relax. He made a career in the mining and construction fields, wearing different hats, from laborer to Superintendent to business partner.

He was also an avid outdoorsman, a hunter and a fisherman. He always knew when and where to find the “big ones” and taught his family to “leave the small ones for next time.” He had a huge respect for history and nature, knowing the things it provides and the animals that live there.

Freddie came from a large family; he was the oldest of 11 children. He had 5 children, 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

Freddie leaves behind his wife, Pauline; daughter, Terry; sons Steve, Randy, and Rick; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Louise Goss; brothers Clarence, Ronnie, Jimmy, Billy and Mike; sisters Esty Pinkerton and Della Wakefield; and his daughter, Lucinda.

Services for Freddie will be at the Living Waters Church, 125 E. Haskins Rd. Globe, Arizona on July 26, 2024 at 10 a.m. A funeral reception will follow at the American Legion Hall, 645 S. Broad St., Globe, Arizona.

A Living Tribute of Trees will be planted in the Tonto National Forest in Freddie's honor.
