Rosemary Teichrow, age 98, of Globe, Arizona passed away on Sept. 9, 2024, at her home in Globe, Arizona. She was born on Feb. 26, 1926, in Globe to Thomas and Hazel Mealey. Rosemary grew up in Clifton and Globe.

After studying at Arizona State Teachers College (now NAU), Humboldt State University in Northern California and University of Hawaii, she taught 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grade at East Globe School and Copper Rim. Rosemary was active in Delta Kappa Gamma, CASA, and the

Wednesday Book Club and Business and Professional Women’s Club in Globe.

As a child Rosemary loved to read and set to memory poetry, as did her brother, Bob. As a teacher she would write plays for the student productions. Her love of the English language and history extended to closely following the news of the Royal family. Mom and Queen

Elizabeth II were both born in 1926. Mom and Grandma were Atlanta Braves fans and later became Arizona Diamondbacks fans.

She enjoyed going to live plays and musicals at Broadway Palms, Grady Gammage, Hale Theater and local shows. She loved traveling in the US and even Europe with her family and friends, going to Elder Hostel programs. She did not like to drive, especially if she had to go on the “big road” HW60. When she bumped into the rear bumper of another car on Noftsger Hill she never drove again.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Hazel Mealey, and her brother Robert Mealey.

She is survived by her two sons, Scott (Geneva) Teichrow of Globe, Arizona and John S. Teichrow of Globe, Arizona.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 5, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in Globe, Arizona.
