Vicky Anne Castaneda was born on March 17, 1958, and passed away on Dec. 20, 2023, after a brief battle with an aggressive cancer. She grew up in Globe, Arisona, and is survived by her husband of 20 years, Mike Castaneda; her son Andrew (Lisa) Foster; her daughter Toni (Tyler) DeAnda-Solberg; her bonus children Tami (Chad) Lane, Jennifer (Tory) Perez and Michael (Brandi) Castaneda; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; sisters Connie Sansom and Marie (Richard) Powers; brother Bobby Valdez; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Vicky was an exceptional woman who lived life to the fullest and always remained prepared. She was bold, fearless and never failed to look her best, even when visiting the lake. According to her, you never know who you might run into, so she never left the house without her hair and makeup done or her fast red Mustang clean and pristine. Vicky was always ready to have a good time, and like Mary Poppins she had a magical purse that contained everything her family and friends could forget they needed at any given time. You could always count on her to have one in her purse. Vicky was generous and always went out of her way to help others. She enjoyed supporting a good fundraiser, sewing baby blankets, crocheting, finding bargains and spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved her family deeply and had a unique way of showing love and affection to those around her.

In lieu of flowers, you can donate to Gila County 4-H in Vicky’s honor to ensure her charitable way of life continues to impact our community. A celebration of life will be held on Feb. 3, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the Globe-Miami Elks Lodge, 1910 E. Maple St. Globe, Arizona.
