Friday night at Harbison Field, the Globe Tigers started the 2023-24 football season with a resounding win over section rival ALA-Anthem South, dominating the visiting Titans 34-0. The victory, on an evening where monsoon lightning lit the skies and rain cooled the field, gave the Tigers a 1-0 record in Section 2A Black.
“It was nice to be on the winning side of a blowout. We’ve seen our fair share of blowout losses the past few years,” said Globe head coach Talmage Hansen. “It was great seeing our boys take care of the little things; good snaps, no fumbles, catching balls, staying disciplined. It’s a sign of our program maturing.”
Up next for the Tigers is an Aug. 25 non-section home game against Greyhills Academy, from Tuba City.
