Fresh off a state tournament appearance, the Globe Tigers basketball team had a couple of players recognized for their play in the 3A South Central region. One of the toughest regions in the state, the 3A South Central featured defending state champion Coolidge and eventual state champion Valley Christian.
Seniors Wendsler Nosie III and Brandon Shorty were named to the 2nd Team All-Region for their efforts in region play. Fellow senior Vaughn Lomayaktewa was named an Honorable Mention for his efforts on the court.
The Tigers finished the season 7-11 but qualified for the 3A state tournament.
Lady Tiger Shanell Francis, also a senior, was named an Honorable Mention in the 3A South Central region on the girls’ side.
