The Lady Tigers were able to represent their hometown of Globe with two season ending wins. First, they took the fight to Coolidge and walked away with a tough, 4-3, road victory. They followed that up with a smashing home win over Santa Cruz Valley two days later, final score 8-0. The game against Santa Cruz on Thursday, Jan. 30 would be the last game of the season for soccer. It was promising to see the girls team end the season with some success.
The soccer season runs from November to February. Both Globe and Miami participate together as one team, under the Globe Tigers at Harbison Field. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams can look forward to some young freshman, with soccer experience, coming in next year. These final two wins could be a springboard for more wins next season. It is up to the student athletes to make that happen.
