Nikki Wampole, a radiant light who brought joy and laughter to everyone she met, passed away unexpectedly on January 4 at the age of 33, due to complications from epilepsy, a condition she battled bravely her entire adult life.
Even through adversity, Nikki relentlessly lived life to the fullest. She was a passionate softball player, and even when her health made it difficult to be outside she found solace and strength in music. Whether belting out her favorite Stevie Nicks tunes at home or crowd surfing at a rock show, music was her refuge.
Nikki’s creativity knew no bounds. She was a talented artist across multiple mediums, with the unique ability to tell a story without words through her art. Her pieces were both technically skilled and deeply evocative, leaving a lasting impression on all who saw them.
Nikki’s inner strength was unmatched. She lifted the spirits of others with her unwavering positivity and inspired countless people simply by getting through the day. Her love was unconditional, her courage immeasurable, and her impact on all undeniable.
Nikki is survived by her parents, Wayne and Linda of Globe, siblings Shanna of Tucson, Felicia of Bellingham, James (Joey) of Santan Valley, and Jesse, with whom she shared a home in Tempe, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends in every corner of the planet, and two cats, Diego and Paco.
Nikki may be gone, but her light will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched. Her music will play on, her art will inspire, and her infectious laugh will forever be a reminder of the incredible woman she was. And in times like these, remember, “There’s no crying in baseball.”
