ranked second out of 41 teams in 2A.

MIAMI – Thanks to a strong start to the 2023 season, the Miami baseball team is ranked second out of 41 teams in 2A.

So far in the regular season, Miami has defeated Morenci, Round Valley, St. Augustine, Superior, San Carlos, Gilbert Classical and Scottsdale Prep, and lost to Benjamin Franklin and Horizon Honors, for a 7-2 record. Including tournament play, Miami sports an 11-4 record.

Offensively, Andre Hayes leads Miami with a .526 batting average, and he has added 15 runs batted in. Meanwhile, Angel Pena is batting .512 with one home run and 10 stolen bases.

On the mound, Aidan Guthrey has five wins with a 1.06 earned run average. He has struck out 38 batters in 33 innings with just six walks. Gabe Garcia has compiled three wins with a sparkling 0.70 earned run average.
