Lady Vandals sweep Lady Braves on the road

The Miami Lady Vandals swept the San Carlos Lady Braves 25-23, 25-15 and 26-24, in region play on the road.

“A lot of the girls played in different positions tonight,” said Miami head coach Jaymie Swift-Hooke. “Some of the girls stepped into a different role and did a good job, they stayed positive and were confident in the position they were playing.”

The Lady Vandals are dealing with injuries but Swift-Hooke has said this presents an opportunity for her team to adjust and grow because the season can be unpredictable with injuries and sickness.

“Vandals have always prided themselves on fundamentals, making sure they know every position on the court,” said Swift-Hooke.

Miami traveled to Superior for a non-region game on Monday.

On Oct. 6, they travel to San Tan Charter for a critical region game against the Lady Roadrunners. San Tan Charter is second in 2A Valley region standings and defeated Miami in five thrilling sets earlier this season.

As of press time, the Lady Vandals are 7-3 (excluding tournament games) on the season.
