The Globe High School Lady Tigers picked up three impressive wins last week, defeating ALA-Anthem South 26-0, topping Miami 15-3 and knocking out San Tan Foothills 17-2.
“Teagan Mercier hit her first home run ever and Aubrey Lopez hit two home runs,” said head coach Frank Grice, of the Tigers facing rival Miami. “Overall, the girls pulled off the win (against San Tan Foothills). We want to send the seniors out with a win.”
At press time, the Lady Tigers were 15-12 and ranked in the middle of the 3A South Central region.
Globe concluded their regular season against Gilbert Christian on Monday.
“Overall, I am happy with the girls,” said Grice. “We lost our one and two pitchers and Teagan has stepped up this year. I’ll have four solid pitchers next year, and we have nine eighth graders coming up that took second in Central Junior High League. I see us getting better each year.”
