In Friday’s non-league match, the visiting Globe Tigers football squad scored a big 40-0 victory over the Santa Rita Eagles.
Globe had 259 total yards of offense, led by Andrew Gonzales’ 112 yards on 12 carries. Anasco Sanchez, the Tigers’ quarterback, ran for 42 yards on nine rushes with a touchdown. He also completed five of eight passes for 44 yards with two touchdowns.
In their next game, the Tigers clash with the American Leadership Academy - Ironwood Warriors (Ironwood, AZ) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 2. Globe will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record. The Warriors enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 30-28 non-league loss to Arizona Lutheran Academy (Phoenix, AZ).
