Audrey Ownsby is a senior at Miami High School and captain of the cheer squad. She has been in cheer since seventh grade, but her interest in the sport goes back further to a grade school cheer camp. Her sister and a cousin were involved, and it seemed “super exciting” and fun. Her favorite sports memory is of Miami Cheer qualifying on Saturday, Nov. 3 for the Arizona State contest in February. Her favorite subject is math, which she enjoys because it is interesting, and she is good at it. She likes Miami High School because to the small class sizes and because everyone in a small school is close and connects better. After graduation she intends to go to a university to study statistics or journalism.
