Mickey Jean Corso

Born Mickey Jean Evans on March 10, 1938 on Pasquale Street in Globe, Ariz. to Louise and Newell “Shorty” Evans, she was later adopted by her step-father Ray Ashmore. Mickey spent most of her life in the Globe-Miami area aside from a few years in California.

Mickey loved to travel with her late husband Paul Corso, Sr. and visit with her children, grand- and great-grandchildren. 

Mickey worked at the Safeway store in Miami, was a secretary for Miami-Inspiration Copper Co., headed Pertzborn Plumbing, and owned Mickey’s Gift Shop in downtown Globe. Mickey and Paul also owned the Antler’s Bar and Café in Young, Ariz.

Mickey passed away at the age of 80 on Jan. 8, 2019 at Heritage Health Care Center in Globe.

Mickey is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Kenneth, Don and Bill Evans and her sister Ruth Payne. Also, by her stepchildren Gina Corso, Shelly Hansen, Paul “Dupper” Corso, Jr, grandchildren Autumn Nicole Mishler, Andru O. Miles, Gertrude and Elizabeth James.

Mickey is survived by her daughters Mary Hysong, Tina Tracy (Gary), and Liana Pearsall; her step-children Mike Corso (Debbie), Michelle Erickson, Mike Mishler (Lisa), almost 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many extended family members. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations in Mickey’s name to some of her favorite local charities such as the Gila County Humane Society, the Dylan Earven Foundation and the women’s shelter. 

Arrangements are pending for a celebration of life gathering.
