Lorraine Pearson, 92, of Country Club Manor passed from this life on August 8. She was born 18 March 1925 to Joe and Lillian Pearson.

Lorraine graduated in 1945 from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S. C. with a degree in business.  She worked for thirty years in San Francisco, CA, as a legal secretary. Her last position there was with the Environmental Protection Agency. In 1987 Lorraine returned to the Globe-Miami area to care for her father.  In 1988 she went to work part time for the City of Globe in the Water Department.  She remained at that job for eight years. Her supervisor was Marda Lou Schulte. Once a month for twenty four years Lorraine, Marda Lou, Rexina Pelger and Ida Padilla would go to lunch “just to stay in touch”.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents who owned Pearson’s Pontiac Motors in Miami many years ago and her brother, Joe, Jr. Lorraine was a kind, generous woman who supported local charities including the Miami Library and High Desert Humane Society.

Lorraine is survived by her sisters Betty Jo Sansing and Mary Francis Williams, nephews Steve Williams, Jon Williams, John Robert Sansing, James Sansing, Michael Pearson, Jay Pearson, Brian Pearson and nieces Carol Sansing and Karen Sansing. She is survived locally by cousins Charles Snow, Kathy Johnson and Jane Hale. Lorraine was always impeccably dressed. All who knew her will miss her friendly smile and charming assortment of hats.

The Miami Senior Center will be holding a memorial at the Senior Center at 10a.m. on August 31.

Everyone is welcome.
