Kathleen Kapera of Mesa, Arizona died on Feb. 23, 2023. Better known as Kathy, she was 76 years of age. Kathy was born to Raymond Kapera and Rosemary Shalko in Cleveland, Ohio on Jan. 22, 1947. She grew up in Southern California, surfing and horseback riding. While working at Mattel Toy Company in SoCal, Kathy met her future husband Armando (Mandy) Lopez. Together they moved to the Globe-Miami area, Mandy’s hometown, where they raised their only child, Sean Lopez. They both worked at the mines and owned the UN Bar.
Kathy was the ultimate Wonder Woman mother. She loved her only child Sean like no other. In addition, Kathy was a huge dog lover. She loved her pets throughout her lifetime with all of her heart. Kathy is survived by her son Sean and half-brother Patrick. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. There will be no services at this time.
