Jean Stiles passed away on Feb. 18, 2019 in Gilbert, Ariz.  

Jean was born in Globe, Ariz. on Aug. 9, 1921. She lived in the Globe/Miami area for most of her 97 years. She graduated from Globe High School in 1939, after which she attended NAU. She lived in California with her aunt until she relocated to Phoenix to work at Williams Air Force base during WWII. She returned to Globe in 1944 and married the love of her life, Sidney Stiles, in 1951.  

Jean cherished her family, friends, church and community. Jean believed in giving of herself and time in support of others. She was an active community member, she sang in the Sweet Adelines, played French horn in the community band, TOPS member; she enjoyed playing bridge on Fridays and volunteered at the Globe Museum. Jean was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir, served on the altar and Mary Martha Guilds.  

Loved ones that cleared the path for Jean are her parents, Clara and Clarence Woody; brother John Woody; husband Sidney Stiles, and daughter Diane Stewart. Loved ones that will miss her until they meet again are Jean’s daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Al Tittes, Sherri and Glenn Jacob and grandchildren Brian Stewart, Kristin Lopez, Brett Williams, Scott Williams, Danny Williams, Christopher Jacob and Nicole Jentsch; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. 

Memorial services were held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Globe, Ariz.
