Guadalupe “Lupe” Navarro II, 81

Guadalupe (Lupe) Navarro II, age 81, of Globe, Arizona passed away on Nov. 7, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Globe on May 16, 1940 to Guadalupe Navarro and Josie (Josephine) Pereyda. Lupe loved his mother dearly and is now with her. On Nov. 21, 1964 Lupe married the love of his life, Helen Calvillo. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Globe from 1965 until 2004 when he retired. Lupe enjoyed being with his brothers, sisters and friends. He also enjoyed watching Judge Judy on the weekdays and having his grandson John Paul come from Flagstaff to utilize his outdoor cooker he built himself. He loved to be with his friends for some social drinks at Abells courthouse and the TAP Room. Some of Lupe’s hobbies included working with his hands, building whatever came into his mind, and he had a talent for drawing although he didn’t do it often.

Lupe is preceded in death by his father Guadalupe, his mother Josephine, his brothers Manuel and Nacho, and his sisters Carmen and Angie.

Lupe is survived by wife Helen, children John Marquez (Lisa) and Mary Helen Dass, brothers and sisters Rosie Valenzuela, Johnny Navarro, Joey Navarro, Isabel Navarro, Stella Zaragoza, Della Navarro and Josie Ochoa, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family received friends on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Lamont Mortuary of Globe, followed by a graveside service at Globe Cemetery.
