George Eles Chism was born on October 1, 1940 in Miami, Ariz. and was taken home by the angels on October 4, 2017.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Ruby Chism, sister Joyce Phillips, granddaughter Allyssa, and son-in-law Robert Hunter.

He is survived by his wife Carole of Globe; daughter Debbie Hunter of Texas; son Mike Chism (Jan) of Globe, son Paul Chism (Hallie) of California; brother John Chism (Linda) of Globe; sister Louvella Coffe of Globe, sister Shiela Anzinger of Springerville; seven grandchildren- Gary Hunter (Joyceln) of Texas, Shaman Noonan (Randy) of Texas, Michael Chism of Globe, Mark Chism of Globe, Megan Chism of Globe, Aaron Alaniz of Globe, Heather Alaniz of Mont., Nick Chism and Marie LeFevre of Calif., Brooke Chism of Calif.; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

George was a Navy man in his younger years until he married the love of his life, Carole n 1961. Life after the Navy was spent in mines providing for his family. Life was always about his family.

George was an avid camping, fishing and 4-wheeling enthusiast. He loved the outdoors. He was so proud of his Polaris side-by-side. You could often see George and Carole taking it for little trips up the trails as often as they could every weekend.

He loved his kids, grandkids, and great grand babies with all his heart. His favorite conversations were always about his kids when they were younger and the antics they would get into.

George enjoyed working and staying busy in his yard. He always enjoyed life to the fullest and instilled this into his family. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service was held at Maranatha Baptist Church, 1320 Saguaro Drive, Globe, Ariz. at 1 p.m. on October 6, 2017.
