Arnold Lewis Ambos, age 69, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at his residence in Globe. He was born in Globe,on May 8, 1949 the son of Arnold M. Ambos and Dona (Brown) Ambos.

He started his career with the Globe Police Department in 1974 as a patrolman and worked his way up to the rank of Lieutenant, before retiring in 1995. He started his second career with the Gila County Attorney’s Office and dedicated eleven years of service as an investigator and Chief Investigator in the Criminal Investigations Unit. Arnold was involved in our local community with the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts and in the history of Globe. He enjoyed listening to the Beach Boys and watching John Wayne movies. He loved being outdoors duck hunting and fly fishing. One of his pastimes was collecting coins. He spent many happy hours with his grandkids and family.

Preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Dona Ambos and his sister Susan Arthur.

Arnold is survived by his children Tammy Wysong (Robert), Niki Harmon (Justin) and Byron Chase (Moci); his siblings, Margo Sanderson and Dee Dee Cooper; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe.
