“Welcome to Nugget” comes to Globe on November 13

“Welcome to Nugget,” a fictional book inspired by Globe, will be brought to life on Nov. 13, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Vida e Caffe. If you’ve read the story, you’ll appreciate getting pictures with Tripod, seeing some of his “collection,” eating Nug’s nuggets with special sauce and drinking No Doze Café coffee. There will also be a selection of beautiful coffee table books from Bound to Please available for purchase by donation, with 100% of the sales going to the High Desert Humane Society.

If you haven’t discovered this literary gem yet, this event will offer something for everyone. Thea Wilshire, the author, will do a reading and sign copies of the book. Additionally, just in time for the holidays, both hardcover and softcover books will be available for sale and can be personalized by the author.

“Welcome to Nugget” is the first of a series of books about a little mining town in Eastern Arizona. A young psychologist arrives from Los Angeles and adjusts to small town living while befriending eccentric neighbors, surviving unexpected challenges and falling in love with the little community. Additionally, the cat-phobic  doctor tries to adapt to being chosen by a massive, three-legged Maine Coon cat with unique skills who is beloved by the entire town.

Wilshire is actively writing books two, three and four of the series now. Your comments and suggestions can help influence future stories. Share which characters you want to learn more about, ask questions about the story arc and Nugget, and let Wilshire know which parts of the story you liked best or least.

Additionally, in this age of social media, book promotion on Amazon is linked to the number of reviews the work has received. If you have not left a book review on Amazon or Good Reads and want to do so, help will be available at this event to walk you through this process.

Special thanks to Vida e Caffe for stepping in as No Doze Café and hosting this event. Our gratitude goes to the High Desert Humane Society for supporting the event with loans from its clothing and coffee table book collections. Finally, biggest thanks to Regina Ortega-Leonardi for organizing this event.

If you have any questions about this event, please contact Ortega at 808-373-0032.
