Source One Meds presented the Miami Town Council with a check in the amount of $25,505. Source One Meds agreed to donate three percent of their gross to the town every quarter.
Mayor Sammy Gonzales expressed his appreciation for the business and all they do to be a part of the town, donating when they can to local events.
The town approved the IGA agreement for the Summer Youth Program with Gila County. They will hire four youth to work for the town of Miami this summer.
The council approved Resolution No. 1251, declaring as a public record that certain document filed with the town Clerk entitled “The 2021 Use Tax Amendment to the tax code of the town of Miami.” This will allow the town to collect 2.5 percent sales tax on internet sales. The sales will be based on the zip code used for the purchase. Online transactions increased during the pandemic and many of the towns have added this tax amendment.
The town of Miami recently relaunched its website. The newly designed website is more user-friendly and easier to navigate through. Residents can look up council meeting agendas and town codes, find applications for employment, sign up for express bill pay and much more - all with a click. Visit https://miamiaz.gov.
Miami also updated the email addresses associated with all town employees. Parts of the original email list for the council meeting agenda were lost in the process.
