Aggravated Assault at Globe Community Center
On 12/28/2017, a 57 year old Globe resident was lured into the park near the Community Center and brutally beaten. The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. The incident was reported to the Globe Police Department the following day and an investigation was conducted.
On 01/03/2018, Officers from the Globe Police Department arrested the suspect, John Wayne Phillips (44 years old from Globe). Phillips was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and booked into the Gila County Jail.
On 01/04/2018, Officers from the Globe Police Department served a search warrant on Phillips’ residence on Ice House Canyon Road. Officers located three firearms. Officers will add weapons charges as Phillips is a prohibited possessor of firearms.
