Around 11:15 Tuesday morning, 11 railcars in an Arizona Eastern Railway train traveling through Globe derailed near the State Route 77 overpass east of town. The derailed cars were carrying copper concentrate, according to a railway spokesman. There were no injuries, and no crossings are blocked. The railway spokesman told the Silver Belt that the safety of cleanup crews on the scene was their first priority, and cleanup was expected to take up to three days. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
