Miami Senior Center update

The Miami Senior Center at 506 W. Live Oak St. offers lunch Monday through Friday. Call 928-473-4190. The suggested donation is $2.

Thursday, April 11 — Bingo 10:30 a.m.

Menu: Lemon chicken and stuffing, mixed vegetables and spinach, Jell-O with banana and whipped cream, oatmeal cookie.

Friday, April 12 — Coffee Club 8-10 a.m., Karaoke 10:30 a.m.

Menu: Baked fish, rice pilaf, coleslaw, orange.

Monday, April 15 — $2 Biscuit and gravy, Coffee Club 8-10 a.m.

Menu: Roast beef with red chili, Spanish rice and corn, carrots, cottage cheese and oranges, tortilla.

Tuesday, April 16 — 10:30 a.m. Loteria

Menu: Mac and cheese with ham, cauliflower, peas and carrots, strawberry with whipping cream, bread.

Wednesday, April 17 — $2 Biscuit and gravy, Coffee Club 8-10 a.m.

Menu: Turkey and stuffing, yams, garden salad, baked apples.

All meals are served with 1 percent milk.

Miami Senior Center cannot deliver homebound meals without authorization from a case manager. Many people believe that they just have to call the center to receive a meal, but they must be referred through Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens. Call 1-800-293-9393.

Globe Active Adult Center update

Ballroom dancing on Mondays 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Stretch and flex at 9:20 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Biscuits and gravy on Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. $3 per bowl. Benefits Assistance Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or call 928-425-8863 or Pinal-Gila Council at 1-800-293-9393.

Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 11:45 a.m. Ages 60 and over is $2.50 per meal, under 60, $5 per meal. The Globe Active Adult Center is located at 579 S. Broad St., and the phone number is 928-425-9030.

Menu: Baked ham, roasted potatoes, mixed veggies, wheat bread, mixed fruit.

Friday, April 12 — Bingo and crafts.

Menu: Tuna salad sandwich, lettuce and tomato, carrot raisin salad, wheat bun, applesauce.

Monday, April 15 — President’s Holiday

Menu: Beef hot dog with sauerkraut and onions, baked beans, bun, pasta salad, Mandarin oranges.

Tuesday, April 16 — Exercise/stretch and flex.

Menu: Roasted chicken, rice pilaf, spinach salad, peas and carrots, wheat bread, ambrosia.

Wednesday, April 17 — Bingo and ceramics.

Menu: Chili relleno casserole, Spanish rice, garden salad, broccoli, tortilla, banana pudding.

All meals served with 2 percent milk.

Ballroom dance classes at the Globe Senior Center

Ron Chesley will be giving ball room dance classes at the Globe Senior Center, 579 S. Broad St., from 9:30-10:30 a.m., through all Mondays in April.

He will be teaching rumba, waltz, cha-cha, swing and the five-step. These dance lessons will get participants ready for the Old Dominion Days “Copper Ball” scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14.

The classes are open to everyone, not just seniors. Couples or singles are welcome. Come and enjoy and get ready for the Copper Ball.
