San Carlos makes a respectable showing at the Section IV State Championships
San Carlos High School sent a team of seven boys and two girls to the Section IV State Cross Country championships at Cave Creek Golf Course. Brian Cassa was the fastest of the San Carlos contingent in 41st place with a time of 17:47.9 in the upper quarter of a field of 191 runners. Keshaun Noline took 78th place running the course in 18:45.1.
Jeremiah Kenton came in 125th with a time of 19:43.7 and Maurice Anderson Jr. 140th with a time of 20:03.4. Reppert Cassadore III Xavier Hooke and Ken Church finished 162nd 168th and 170th with times of 21:01.8, 21:10.2, and 21:22.0 respectively.
In a field of 160 girls, Chloe Wiley came in 32nd with a time of 22:12.8, and Marissa Barrasa claimed 38th place with a time of 22:23.0. Both girls were in the upper quarter of all female runners in their section. The two girls came in first and second in the Miami Multi-meet in September.
