The Read-on Express encouraged all Globe downtown businesses to decorate their storefronts as part of the Read-On bus tour on Dec. 8. A traveling trophy was awarded to the business owner with the best magical holiday theme. On Dec. 7 four children judges walked from Upton’s to El Ranchito and judged twenty-six storefronts. The first annual “Downtown Holiday Throw Down” winner with 19.5 points out of 20 was United Jewelry. The judge’s comments were “Super pretty deco that is all over” and “score of 4½ because it was awesome and merry.” Read-on Express would like to thank all the participating storefronts: the decorations made the tour of downtown Globe very festive.
