The public is invited to meet Miss Indian World, Taylor Susan, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Bullion Plaza Cultural Center & Museum, located at 150 N. Plaza Cir., Miami, Ariz.
She was crowned last April at the Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque, NM.
Taylor, the 35th Native American woman to wear this crown, is a member of both the White Mountain Apache and the Walker River Paiute tribes. At 25, she is already a veteran of pageants, as Miss Native American University of Arizona in 2014 and Miss Indian Arizona in 2015. She graduated from UA with a bachelor’s degree in political science, and an emphasis in law and public policy. She has two minors, chemistry and theater. When her reign is over, she may pursue a master’s degree in chemistry.
The Miss Indian World Pageant ‘s purpose is to give young Native American women the opportunity to represent their tribes and teach others about them, serving as a cultural ambassador of all Native Americans.
