Globe FFA receives chapter jacket grant

Posted

Living up to its mission to be “more than plows and cows,” the Globe FFA has been busy in the community.

In addition to reading to kids at Copper Rim Elementary School and Winkleman Elementary School in October, the chapter was recently chosen as one of four grant recipients in Arizona.

Currently there are 94 FFA high school programs in Arizona, so the announcement was great news for Globe FFA.

“The (chapter grant application) essays were blind-judged (chapter names were removed) by four independent judges and scores were compiled,” State FFA Executive Secretary Bethany Matos stated in an email announcing four recipient chapters. “The judges all agreed that the competition was stiff.”

The 10 new Blue Jacket additions to the Chapter Closet will accommodate the growing program and help the chapter represent GHS and the community.
