The Gila County Sheriff Office has released a list of found, lost or safekeeping property.
July 2017: Backpack found in the lobby of the Gila County Jail in Globe. Four Wake boards and a bicycle found in the area of Timber Camp in Globe.
September 2017: A firearm found in the area of the Diversion Dam in Globe. A Bag with clothing and miscellaneous items found in the area of Moonlight and Garrels in Star Valley. A firearm found in the area of Vineyard Canyon Picnic Area in Roosevelt. Backpack found in the area of Russell Rd. in Globe.
October 2017: A kayak found in the area of Roosevelt. A small purse found in the area of Dominion St. in Globe. A safe found in the area of Hwy 188 in Globe.
November 2017: A wallet turned over to Payson Sheriff’s Office. A bag with miscellaneous items turned over to Globe Sheriff’s Office.
Proof of ownership is required. For property, bicycles, and stolen recovered property, there are five ways to prove ownership. Claimer can verify serial number of the item, they can present a dated receipt of purchase of the item. They can have submitted a prior stolen/lost property report with a police agency for the item, they can have a photograph with themselves and the item in it, or they can be able to articulate specific characteristics of the item. Claimants must present a valid driver’s license or state issued ID card when picking up the property. To claim property call 928-402-8579.
