Gaudet thanks Town of Miami and residents

Hon. Mayor and Council, Town of Miami Staff, and Town of Miami Residents:

It has been my great pleasure to serve as your Town Manager. We weathered the 7th largest wildfire in Arizona history, and shoveled over 3,000 cubic tons of mud from the flood. Due to the diligence of Town Council, Town Staff and local business, the Town increased sales tax revenues by 93% from 2020 to 2022. The Town’s contingency reserves sit at a healthy $1.3M. The Town continues to expand services at the Senior Center, Transit and Library.

On May 9, 2022, I provided my resignation letter to Town Council. I am leaving to better care for a family member. I want to thank the Mayor and Town Council for the opportunity to serve as Town Manager, for their understanding of my family’s need and acceptance of my resignation. The Town is blessed to have a Council who remain committed to the future of Miami, and always look out for its residents.

I also wish to thank each team member in the Town. Any success is due to Town staff. It was a joy to provide them with a bonus for the first time in recent history. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Team Miami!

Finally, thank you to the Miami community. Thank you for everything you do for our Town. From our businesses, to the mines and every resident of Miami. The Second Saturday Events continue to gain momentum and bring life into our downtown area. Thank you to everyone who volunteers for events, who attends our events, and who chooses to live, work and play in Miami.

I am overwhelmed when I reflect on all that the Town has endured and accomplished in the last 18 months. It has been one of my greatest honors to serve as your Town Manager. I wish the Town all the best, and I am confident that its best days are still to come.
