EDITOR: The shutdown was an inconvenience for many (if not all) federal government employees, but we survived it.
Now that we are back to work and working hard to make up lost time (35 days), we would like to acknowledge the outpouring support we received from our community. On behalf of the employees of the Tonto National Forest, Globe and Tonto Basin Ranger Districts, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the community agencies and small business owners who reached out and offered assistance during this trying time.
The expressions of care and concern for our federal workforce was heartwarming and humbling.
“As community members, our shared values connect us, and we share in life’s trials and triumphs. We cherish our part in the community connection and will continue to strive to be good neighbors.” That quote is taken from Cal Joyner, Southwestern Regional Forester, and it rings true from the deepest levels of your local federal lands stewards as well.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Mark Sando, Globe District Ranger
