Gila County — Gila County will begin a multi-part chip seal project in the Globe-Miami area on Aug. 28.
The roughly $75,700 project aims to improve and extend the life of the pavement in the area. The project consists of placing a chip seal coat on each of the following streets: Jesse Hayes Road, Acoma Avenue, Hopi Avenue, Yucca Place, Kiva Avenue, Zuni Street, Navajo Avenue, Taos Street, Pueblo Street, Grand View Drive, Wever Circle, and Pinal View Drive.
Residents should plan for traffic to be reduced to one lane in the work zone. Drivers should be prepared to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
Work will take place Monday through Friday during daylight hours. Contractors should complete the work in approximately two weeks.
The contractor may make changes to this schedule due to weather or other variables. If this happens, Gila County will notify residents promptly.
