Capstone holds open house

Capstone held their open house for the community on Monday, Aug. 5 for everyone to stop by and visit, and talk with employees in various fields. Tables were set up with information on the different operations that make up the mine with photos, maps and even examples of small items that are used for everyday processing. At each table an employee was present to answer any questions someone might have. They have extensive safety training for each position to maintain the proper procedures to prevent accidents. Capstone believes at the heart of all that they do, safety is there priority. Their goal is that every one of their employees returns home safely every day.

Capstone has also set out values and standards, which guide the conduct of their business and the behavior of their employees. Wherever they work, they commit to operate to the same high standard of integrity and responsibility.

Capstone’s Values are:

Always Accountable - We take ownership for ourselves, and our work. We “do the right thing” for the business and our stakeholders.

Execute with Excellence - We measure our performance and strive to excel at every level.

Deliver Results - We make decisions and are responsible for our outcomes. We work openly and effectively with each other, leveraging the strength of the team.

Work Responsibly - Safety is non-negotiable: it ensures the well-being of our people and our business.

Our Values and Ethics is Capstone’s code of conduct policy that applies to all our employees. Employees are expected to maintain and enhance our standing as a vigorous and ethical member of the business community, and are held accountable for compliance with this policy.

Pinto Valley, which has been in operation since 1974 with three shutdown periods, was supposed to stop producing in 2018. Capstone took over Pinto Valley mine in 2003 and since then has extended the life expectancy of the mine to 2039. For a lost of current opening visit their website at capstonemining.com
