The Miami girls basketball team played a thrilling game against St. Augustine on Friday, losing 33-30 in overtime.
The Lady Vandals jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but foul trouble and missed free throws cost them down the stretch. The loss dropped Miami’s record to 1-8.
Jessica Garcia led Miami with 10 points and added 13 rebounds and 7 steals. Jasenia Quezada contributed 9 points and 6 steals while Estrella Salazar had 7 points, 14 rebounds and 3 steals.
Earlier last week, the Lady Vandals suffered two blowout losses - 79-6 against Globe and 49-2 against Ray.
On Thursday, Dec. 16, Miami plays at Superior at 5:30 p.m.
