Mary Ann Rasmussen, 87, of Globe passed away on Dec. 7, 2021.

Mary Ann was born on July 10, 1934 in Havre de Grace, Maryland. She was the first child of Walter Wright and Ester Monahan. As a child she attended boarding school at Trinity College in Washington, D.C. After graduating college at Trinity, she moved across the country with her dog to attend Arizona State University and obtain her Master’s Degree in social work. She would tell her family that while driving through Globe, she thought it would be a nice place to live. Little did she know that after getting her Master’s Degree, she would move to Globe where she was a social worker for Globe School District and surrounding schools until retirement.

Mary Ann was married to Tommie Rasmussen for 47 years. Mary Ann was very active at St. John’s Episcopal Church and in her book club. After retirement, she and Tom spent their summers in Eagar and traveling.

Mary Ann is survived by her son Tim, grandsons Michael and Tim, granddaughter Rachel, daughter-in-law Edlin, and great-grandchildren Rachael and Aiden.
