In the state quarter finals for 1A, Fort Thomas girls lost a closely contested game to Rock Point in the final seconds 52 to 51 after demolishing Immaculate heart 52 to 33.
But the boys beat Rock Point handily 72 to 54 in the next game after beating Duncan 45 to 59 in round 1 play. Fort Thomas will next play #7 ranked Red Mesa in Prescott at 9 a.m. on Feb.23. If they win they will Play NFL Yet HS and JH or #1 ranked The Gregory School at 1 p.m. on Feb. 24 depending on which team wins on the 23rd.
Kobe Talgo and Malachai Rogers scored at will in the 3rd and 4th quarters, and the presence of the Apache’s big man, 6’5” sophomore, Latrell Titla was felt both offensively and defensively.
