Telegraph Fire started South of Superior, Arizona, Friday, June 4, 2021 has currently burned 56,626, with 0% containment, the cause of fire is under investigation.
The #TelegraphFire on the Globe Ranger District is less than 1 mile from Top-of-the-World. Extreme fire activity burning in mostly shrub and grass, has warranted numerous evacuation status alerts. Firefighters are protecting values in Top of the World, and has a goal of keeping the fire south of U.S. 60 and protecting public and private property, firefighter and public safety and as the fire threatens it. It is a fast moving and dynamic fire.
EVACUATION INFORMATION:
Dry grasses and manzanita brush are burning actively after dark due to night-time downslope winds. Last night, fire crews remained active, monitoring the fire, continuing burnout operations and securing the area where the fire crossed U.S. Route 60 yesterday in the Devil’s Canyon area. Today firefighters will continue work to keep the fire south of US 60, west of State Route 77 and protect local communities and other values at risk.

The Red Cross has set up an evacuation center at Lee Kornegay Intermediate School at 4635 Railroad Avenue in Miami and at Skyline High School in Mesa. Large animal sheltering is currently available at the Birch Stockyard at 2822 N Hwy 188 in Globe and the Apache Junction Rodeo grounds.
