A stabbing occurred at a home on Wilson Street in Claypool on Saturday, Feb. 2, according to a press release from Gila County Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd.
At about 1:04 p.m. Feb. 2, the Gila County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a stabbing at a residence in the Claypool area.
Prior to the deputies arrival, two male suspects had fled the scene. Deputies canvased the neighborhood for the suspects with no results.
The victim was transported to the Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center for treatment. As of press time, the victim was in stable condition.
The crime does not appear to be a random act of violence. This is an ongoing investigation and more information may be released as it becomes available.
