Happy trails to you, Bill. Everywhere you went, you left a trail of wonderful friends, memories, compassion, and love. Your nickname was Nonstop - you were always doing something or going somewhere. You traveled to many places, but Maui was HOME. You were a natural working in the travel/hospitality industry – people skills were your forte. Harrah's Tahoe, America West Airlines, Aspen Airlines, United Airlines, and being a travel director in Hawaii brought you in touch with many, and all benefited from your happy personality.
Bill was born to Herb and Sue Mellus on October 18, 1951, in Globe, Arizona. He graduated Miami High School in 1969 and went on to ASU, graduating in 1974.
He is survived by his spouse and true love, Dennis Tumale, of Maui, his sister and brother-in-law, Betsy and Ken Richardson, of Lander, Wyoming, family on both the Mellus and Smith sides, and friends everywhere.
A celebration of life is planned for June 8 at his home on Maui.
