The high school volleyball season got underway in Globe and San Carlos last week. The Globe Lady Tigers varsity team opened their year with a 3-1 road victory over the Arete Prep Lady Chargers Wednesday. The San Carlos Lady Braves were at home Thursday, hosting the Alchesay Lady Falcons. San Carlos fell to Alchesay 0-3.
No game scores or individual statistics for either match were available at press time.
Next up for the Lady Tigers are away games at Ray (Sept. 3) and Alchesay (Sept. 5), and a home game versus San Tan Foothills (Sept. 10).
The Lady Braves will play Fort Thomas at home Sept. 3 and travel to Willcox Sept. 5.
Miami’s Lady Vandals will play their opening game Sept. 5 at home, against Round Valley.
