The San Carlos Apache Police Department announced last Wednesday, October 2 on social media that a pair of suspects had been arrested on charges related to a murder the day before.
According to the police, at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday, October 1 a deceased tribal member was found in the 7 Mile District of San Carlos. A homicide investigation was immediately launched, with the San Carlos Apache Police and the FBI working through the night, and two suspects were identified.
At around 8:30 a.m. the suspects were arrested for multiple charges related to the incident. Police identified them as an adult and a juvenile; the announcement did not name the adult suspect. The Moccasin reached out to the San Carlos Apache Police Department for further information and had received no reply at press time.
