Last Wednesday, the Globe Lady Tigers varsity volleyball team fell 3-0 in a Section 3A Central match versus  the visiting Apache Junction Lady Prospectors. The visitors won 25-16, 25-23, 25-16.

The week in varsity volleyball

Last Wednesday, the Globe Lady Tigers varsity volleyball team fell 3-0 in a Section 3A Central match versus  the visiting Apache Junction Lady Prospectors. The visitors won 25-16, 25-23, 25-16.

The Miami Lady Vandals were at home Thursday against the Willcox Lady Cowboys, and also fell by a 3-0 score. No match statistics were available at press time.

The San Carlos Lady Braves traveled to face the Santa Cruz Valley Lady Dust Devils Thursday. In a tighter contest, the Lady Braves fell 3-2 to Santa Cruz Valley. No match statistics were available at press time.

Friday, the Lady Tigers suffered another 3-0 loss, playing against the Arizona Lutheran Academy Lady Coyotes in the Florence VB Invitational Tournament at Florence High School. The Lady Coyotes won 21-8, 21-14, 14-9.

Globe’s record at press time was 5-13 overall; the Lady Tigers were 0-5 in Section 3A Central, where they stood in sixth place. Their next matches will at home against the Valley Christian Lady Trojans October 17 and at the Coolidge Lady Bears October 22.

San Carlos stood at 1-14 overall; the Lady Braves were in ninth place in Section 2A East at 0-2. Their next match will be on the road versus the Lincoln Prep Lady Lightning October 17.

The Lady Vandals were 0-15 overall and 0-3 in Section 2A East, where they occupied tenth place. Next up for Miami will be two home matches, against the Pima Lady Roughriders October 17 and the San Tan Charter Lady Roadrunners October 21.
