July 20, 1952 – May 19, 2025

On Monday, May 19, 2025, Serafin Pedro Razo Jr. — lovingly known as Junior — passed away at the age of 72. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother, Serafin lived a life of service, love, and dedication to family and community.

Born on July 20, 1952, in Ajo, Arizona, Serafin was the son of Serafin and Adelina Razo. He was raised on 8th Street in Cottonwood, Arizona, surrounded by family, his parents and his 6 siblings.

Serafin was a kind, gentle soul with a deep love for conversation and an even deeper love for his family. His commitment to service was evident throughout his life. He worked for many years in the copper mines around the Globe/Miami area of Arizona, volunteered as a firefighter, and served honorably as a police officer in Globe, Miami, and Clarkdale. A proud veteran, Serafin dedicated 20 years of his life to the U.S. Army and Army National Guard.

Beyond his professional and military service, Serafin’s greatest legacy was his family. He raised three sons and, together with his beloved wife Kathy, adopted and raised six of their grandchildren from an early age.

Serafin was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Razo, and his parents, Serafin Razo and Adelina (Razo) Gomez.

Serafin is survived by his sons: Steve (Kim) Razo, Frank (Shelli) Razo, and Paul Razo and his siblings: Priscella (Percy) Ballesteros, Ramona (Monchie) Contreras, Anita (Annie) Chavez, Romula (Romie) Ballesteros, Jose (Joey) Razo, and Adela (Dela) Martinez. Serafin also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
