Last Friday the San Carlos Braves varsity football team fell 30-6 at home to the Pinon Eagles in a non-section match. No game statistics were available at press time.
The Braves' record stands at 1-3 after a season-opening win over ALA-Anthem South, but that win leaves them unbeaten in section games. Junior Anson Kinney leads the team on offense with 102 total yards and on defense with 11 tackles.
San Carlos' next game is another section matchup, as they travel to Whiteriver to meet the 2-1 Alchesay Falcons Friday, Sept. 20.
The Lady Braves varsity volleyball team visited the Globe Lady Tigers last Thursday, and came away with a 3-1 loss. No match statistics were available at press time. The Lady Braves followed up with another road match Saturday, at the Valley Lady Pirates. The score of that match was unavailable at press time.
The Lady Braves, whose record stood at 0-5 before Saturday's game, will play their first section match Sept. 19, on the road versus the 0-5 Arete Prep Lady Chargers. After that comes a Sept. 24 home section match against the San Tan Charter Lady Roadrunners.
