Salvatore Nicholas Pizzo, 73, of Globe, Arizona passed away on April 16, 2025. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona, the eldest son of Aurora Estrada, and Jack F. Pizzo.

After graduating from Tempe High School, Sal attended MCC, ASU, and lastly, NAU where he earned his Masters degree in education. He was a retired elementary school teacher, an artist, and an accomplished musician. Sal belonged to numerous bands over the years, playing in many venues around the valley and throughout Arizona.

Sal was enjoying his retirement by traveling with two of his life-long buddies, discovering new places and visiting old friends that had moved to other parts of the country. As always, he was living life to the fullest. Working out at the gym, taking his pup to the dog park, helping to maintain the pond at the nearby college, and volunteering with a local animal shelter. And of course, playing as many gigs as possible.

The friendly keyboard player with the perpetual smile, and glint in his eye, made friends wherever he went. The loss is felt by many.

Sal was preceded in death by his parents, as well as many beloved aunts and uncles. He is survived by his brothers, Jack (Diana), and Art (Judy).
