Plush comes to downtown Globe for video

Posted

Last Thursday the former Elks Building in downtown Globe welcomed a New York-based, all-female rock band who came to town for a video shoot.

The band, Plush, was there to film a music video for their song “Run” before a Friday night concert at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix. The video’s director, Chase Warren, has worked with the Globe Downtown Association (GDA) on other films. GDA Manager Molly Cornwell said Warren and one of the band members reached out to her after she sent Warren pictures of the Elks Building. He then recommended Globe to the four-member band as a shooting location.

Between takes of the video, Plush’s lead singer/rhythm guitarist Moriah Formica said they have been together for around four years. Formica and bassist/backing vocalist Ashley Suppa hail from New York, and lead guitarist Bella Perron from Maine. Plush does have an Arizona connection in drummer Faith Powell, who is from the town of Waddell.

They had planned to shoot another part of the video in the Globe Cemetery, but Thursday afternoon’s rain forced a change of plans and the video was finished in another part of the former Elks Building.

“They definitely were taken with Globe,” said Cornwell.
