Friday night the Miami Vandals football team traveled down the road to San Carlos High School for a Section 2A Black matchup against the San Carlos Braves. The Vandals went in at 4-3 overall and 3-1 in section games, while the Braves were 2-5 and 1-2.
It was, in the announcer’s words, “a nice, chilly night.” It would also be the Vandals’ third straight victory, as they notched a 45-8 win over the home team. No game statistics were available at press time.
Next up for the 5-3 Vandals is a non-section road game, Oct. 25 at the 5-3 Glendale Prep Academy Griffins. Now 4-1 against section opponents, the Vandals are firmly in second place in 2A Black behind the 5-0 Pima Roughriders.
The 2-6 Braves, now sixth place in 2A Black at 1-3, will travel to face the Roughriders, who stand at 7-1 overall, Oct. 25.
